Using Drones to Survive
.
What a great time to be alive, during the digital revolution of the 21st century. The photography industry has exploded with advancements, new ways to take pictures and amazing cutting edge techniques. 30 years ago who would have thought we could manipulate news photos or take pictures using a drone. With all of the digital advancements there are so ways to create a career in photography.
As the digital technology has evolved I have been on the forefront of the exploration. Using digital cameras to take pictures and video, 360 and 3D imagery, and I have a fleet of drones for still and motion footage. I just learned about underwater drones, what will we invent next!
I started as a product photographer then moved over to a people photographer with my work being featured in Harper Collins Publishing, The New Yorker, London Sunday Times and tons of advertising and corporate clients. Now I have focused my efforts on drone imaging. I have 3 drones and the FAA certification to fly. Drones are operated through an app on your phone and can be programed to fly autonomously meaning all I do is plan it and push a button and watch the magic happen. This has lead my work to be used for commercials, films and construction documentation. My next goal is to become certified as a UAS, unmanned aircraft system, government pilot to document disasters, like hurricanes and other natural emergencies. The government uses drones for search and rescue as will as historic documentation. At this point in my life I would like to use my craft to contribute to humanity. I can’t wait to experiment with the next greatest advancements in this digital era.
